Snog the Frog policy around hiring costumes
NO BOND. NO HIRE.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS, UNFORTUNATELY YOU CAN NOT HIRE A COSTUME.
Bonds and Late fee’s are not designed as a money making exercise, this is about maintaining and respecting our valuable costumes while ensuring they are available for all customers to enjoy.
Credit Card bond (we do not accept Amex cards)
- Snog will take a credit card imprint from the hirer
- We will require a signature from the hirer on the credit card slip
- No date or amount will be placed on the credit card slip
- The signatory of the credit card imprint will be responsible for any pending charges
- When the costume is returned Snog will evaluate any damage and or loss to the costume items.
- If there is no damage to the costume items, then we will tear up the credit card slip.
- If there IS damage and or loss we will evaluate the damage value. Once assessed we will confirm with the hirer by phone the amount that will be charged to the card holder. Once we have spoken to the signatory of the hire we will charge then charge the card the amount owed (effective immediately) for the damage/loss that has occurred to the costume items.
Cash bond
- The value of a cash bond is determined based on the value of the specific costume items.
- When the costume is returned Snog will evaluate any damage and or loss to the costume.
- If there is no damage then we will return the cash bond in full.
- If there IS damage and or loss we will hold the cash bond & evaluate the damage value.
- If damage is less then the cash bond amount, Snog will refund the difference. If the damage is perceived to be higher than the bond amount. Snog will retain the entire cash bond.
- For both scenario’s we will confirm with the hirer before retaining the bond amount.
Hiring/Reserving/Booking costumes:
- Snog the Frog will only hire or reserve a costume when a payment has been made to secure this costume. Payment can be made by Cash or Credit
- A payment for a reservation or booking must be made in full at the time hire. Even if the costume has not been taken from the shop
- Bookings or reservations made over the phone will require a deposit. This amount will be 60% of the total hire
- Once Payments have been made, there are no refunds on the paid amount.
Snog the Frog will not hold or reserve any costume with out payment or deposit. If you change your mind you will not get a refund.
How Snog evaluates damage or loss…
Lost costume:
- Self explanatory. However if you must know, loads of costumes are one of a kind pieces, or hand made. If these items are lost, that means we have lost a valuable asset to our shop and this cost is generally very high. So please don’t lose a costume.
Damage:
- If the costume does not come back in the same condition as when it left the shop then you the hirer are liable to be charged for damages.
- Rips and stains are the common culprit. If any of this occurs, you will be charged.
- Snog will get a quote from our seamstress and or dry cleaners to ensure the costs applied are fair to the customer. These costs will be passed on to the hirer.
- If we can not remove the stains or repair the rips in the costume, we will charge the full costume value amount to either the cash or credit bond.
Late fees
- Late fees are to be charged as per the signed agreement of the hire.
- The fee’s are a per day late fee.
- If we have not received the costume or any notification from the hirer after three days of the specified return date we will start charging the amount to the credit and or cash bond on a daily basis without prior confirmation.
